In August and earlier this month, you can see the new vine growing up the shepherd's crook where I have the bird feeders. The vine is now not only a profusion of leaves, but is loaded with flowers! I guess that the vine, as well as the milo, came from the bird seed. The flowers look like morning glories, but they are such tiny flowers! They are pretty, and are open only in the morning. Each flower is less than about an inch in diameter. The hummingbirds seem to like the nectar in those flowers as much as they like the sugar water, as they have still been feeding here a lot, as well as seeming to almost hide in the vines!
